I know I am accountable for the debt he was having his car reposessed, but felt sorry for him, and stopped the repossession by paying off the debt with a bank loan. he went on to take out a further loan with log book loans and had the car repossessed. any advice on how i go about taking legal action. I have all proof of the debt, loan and receipt signed by the finance company i paid off in his ex partners name who i might add took the original loan out for him. didnt know the original debt was in her name until i signed the money over to the debt collector ie finance co. The log book for the car was in his name. any advice would be appreciated on taking legal action.

Depending on the limits of your courts, take him to small claims court and bring all of your evidence. He will have to pay you back. You can garnish his wages.
